Throughout my PSII I have done formative assessments daily with my students in order to gauge their understanding before moving onto the next concept. I did formative assessments throughout my PSII in numerous ways. -Daily review of what we did the class before prior to moving on to another topic in the form of class discussions. -Think, pair, share activities throughout lessons to ensure understanding. -Individual worksheets. -Group worksheets. -Centre work I would walk around and observe. -Individual work I would read and observe. -Group work I would read and observe.
I also added two Math word walls into our classroom based on the measurement unit to encourage students who were struggling to still participate in formative assessment by using the tools on the board available to them. I also was able to observe students who needed to constantly look at the word wall to answer questions as another way of formative assessment.
Below are numerous worksheets given to students for them to work on either individually or in a small group. These worksheets were taken home by me every night to assist me with my planning. I was able to ensure students were completing the worksheets and able to complete them correctly, which helped me gauge the students' abilities for our upcoming lessons.
